Adult (18+) Content Policy

This Policy is issued by SOVABOO DIGITAL OÜ (“the Company”, “we”, “our”),
a limited liability company registered in Estonia (registry code 17150442), operating the multilingual literary and publishing platform sovaboo.com (“the Sovaboo Platform”, “the Website”).

The Sovaboo Platform enables independent authors to publish and share literary works (“Writings”) and blog posts (“Posts”) across various genres and languages.
This document explains how the Company manages adult-rated (“18+”) content to ensure that such materials remain appropriate, properly labeled, and accessible only to adult users.

1. Definition of Adult Content

“Adult content” on the Sovaboo Platform refers exclusively to literary or artistic text-based materials that may include mature or sensitive themes, such as:

Such content does not include or permit:

Based on the author’s responses, the Sovaboo Platform automatically assigns one of the following ratings:

  • General Audience (All Ages) – suitable for readers of any age;
  • Mature (18+) – may include adult or sensitive themes.

This classification helps protect readers and ensures compliance with applicable age-restriction laws and content moderation standards.

3. Display and Access Restrictions

Adult-rated content on the Sovaboo Platform is clearly marked and restricted through several technical and visual mechanisms:

  1. Age Confirmation Popup
    Before accessing a page containing adult-rated content, users must confirm that they are 18 years of age or older.
    The confirmation is stored in cookies and remembered during future visits.

  2. Visual Indicators
    Blog posts with an adult rating display a visible “18+” badge on their preview image.

  3. Blurred Covers and Hidden Annotations

4. Author Responsibilities

Authors using the Sovaboo Platform must:

  • understand that mislabeling or concealing adult-rated content may lead to moderation actions or account suspension.

5. Moderation and Enforcement

SOVABOO DIGITAL OÜ reserves the right to:

  • review, re-classify, or restrict access to content if the declared rating is inaccurate;
  • remove or disable any materials that violate this Policy, the Terms of Use, or applicable law;
  • suspend or terminate accounts that repeatedly breach these rules.

All moderation activities are conducted in accordance with the Ethics, Rules & Moderation Policy.

SOVABOO DIGITAL OÜ acts as a hosting and publishing intermediary and is not liable for user-generated content that violates this Policy or applicable law.
However, the Company will promptly respond to valid legal or moderation requests.

8. Final Provisions

This Policy forms part of the Terms of Use.
By using the Sovaboo Platform, all users agree to comply with the rules outlined herein.
